Meet The Team
Coordinator, and Founder of Calvert Theatrics
Jenny Stawinski is an Elementary School Music Teacher who loves combining her skills in Music and Art to help with Musical Theater. Whether it is designing backdrops, being a children’s clown (Lolli the Clown on the Good Ship Lollipop years ago in Pittsburgh), teaching the love of singing, helping with stage makeup, or directing the ensemble during performances, Mrs. Stawinski feels motivated to volunteer her time and energy both at school and at church to ensure that all children involved in musical theater have a wonderful experience. She says, “It is such a privilege to be a part of Calvert Theatrics and all that it embraces!”; “Children grow in beautiful ways by participating in our school musicals!”
“Mallory Reading is a 2nd grade teacher at Sunderland Elementary School. She went through Calvert County Public Schools and graduated from Calvert High in 2003. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Towson University in 2007 and her Master’s Degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University in 2017. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, reading, traveling, and if it’s hockey season, watching the Capitals. Her favorite Broadway shows of all time are Mamma Mia and Wicked.”
Nickie Hopkins is a teacher at Sunderland Elementary. She loves theatre and wants children of all ages to experience that same love, whether it is on the stage, behind the stage, or working with the technology. She has been working with Calvert Theatrics for many years.
